Rugby fans have absolutely lost their minds in one of the craziest finishes that simply came down to a matter of millimetres.

The Wallabies and All Blacks have just produced arguably the most exhilarating Bledisloe Cup battle after duking it out for 88 minutes in Wellington.

New Zealand held the upper hand throughout the majority of the contest before the Wallabies fought back in the second half, but a missed penalty goal from Reece Hodge ends the contest in a 16-16 draw.

The Wallabies nabbed the lead inside the final 10 minutes when James O’Connor slotted a penalty goal only for New Zealand’s Jordie Barrett to level it back up.

Then it was after the 80 minutes when a penalty handed the Wallabies a shot to claim the win with Hodge lining up the kick from well beyond halfway.

His cannon of a kick sailed in the Wellington breeze before it slammed into the post and denied the Wallabies the victory.

New Zealand surged forward as the match dragged on before O’Connor opted to kick the ball out of bounds and bring proceedings to an end with the draw.

The absurd ending to the back-and-forth affair left fans watching on in disbelief.

The contest was thrown into controversy in the opening half when Aussie touch judge Angus Garnder missed seeing Rieko Ioane step on the left side touch line. The moment was in the build up to the All Blacks’ opening try of the match.

In the dying moments before the first half came to an end, a botched lineout from the Wallabies saw the All Blacks spring into action and Ioane broke away to cross the line and score. Thankfully for Aussie fans, the play was reviewed and Ioane’s try was overturned due to a knock on.

It was in the second half when the Wallabies began to take control with Marika Koroibete and debutant Filipo Daugunu crossing the line. But in the end it was the bonkers finish that left those watching on up and out of their seats.
