Manchester United will complete the signing of Donny van de Beek from Ajax this week, per several sources, for a €40 million fee, with the midfielder already agreeing personal terms on a five-year deal.

That deal will spell the end of two current United midfielders though, with the Times reporting that Jesse Lingard and Andreas Pereira likely to leave, as the club are still keen on bringing in a centre-back and right winger.

Sky Sport Italia say that Milan have now won the race for ‘the new Andrea Pirlo’ Sandro Tonali, who will arrive on loan with an option to buy from Brescia this week for a deal potentially worth a total of €30m.

“Being linked with clubs like Arsenal is pleasing for him as they are a prestigious side,” the agent of Roma midfielder Amadou Diawara told TMW, hinting a move could be on the cards.

Speaking of the Gunners, leaked social media messages also appear to suggest that Ainsley Maitland-Niles’ proposed move to Wolves is now off due to disagreements about the fee.

The Guardian report that Leeds United are eyeing another big-money move, this time for playmaker Rodrigo de Paul, who will cost €30m-€35m.

Citing ‘reports’ from elsewhere that cannot be concretely backed up, Goal report that Barcelona have identified their ideal replacement for Luis Suárez – Gabriel Jesus of Manchester City.

The Mirror make the claim that Tottenham attempted to hijack Manchester United’s move for Van de Beek at the last minute but ultimately came up short.

After 24 goals last season, Salzburg striker is apparently attracting interest from Liverpool and Manchester United, say The Sun, despite neither club appearing interested in a striker this summer.

Despite putting on a fire sale that has resulted in almost every first team player being offloaded, Valencia ‘have enquired’ about Matteo Guendouzi of Arsenal, say Super Deporte. Not buying it.
