Fresh wounds,
Swollen body,
Missing tooth,
Broken rib
And a bandaged hand
She silently wept for her husband
Happiness and sadness she felt it all
Happy for the end of her misery
Sad that the provider is gone
Taken away before her children come of age
But just in time before she broke down
She cried, not for the death of her tormentor, no
She cried for the doom of her poor children.
Dressed in all black from head to toe
But her heart white, anticipating peace to flow
