BETIS-REAL MADRID

Martin Odegaard has suffered a tear in the soleus of his right leg that will keep him out for about a month. Real Madrid issued a medical report on Friday on the injury and that has been confirmed in the tests that the midfielder underwent on Monday morning.Since his return to the club after a successful loan spell at Real Sociedad last campaign, the Norwegian has had little luck at time when he wants to prove himself as a Real Madrid player. He arrived with knee problems that had affected him in the final stretch of last season with La Real, followed by a difficult process with the flu and now has suffered a calf injury that will keep him out of action for the best part of a month.Odegaard started Norway’s last two matches, first against Romania (70 minutes) and then Northern Ireland (78 minutes). Upon his return to Madrid, the first signs seemed to indicate that the problem was serious and Monday’s tests confirmed that.

As a result, Odegaard will be out of Madrid’s next six matches before the November international break: Shakhtar Donetsk, Barcelona, Borussia Monchengladbach, Huesca, Inter and Valencia. He is unlikely to join up with Norway squad next month and therefore should return for the Alaves match on November 29.Odegaard started the first two games of the season, against Real Sociedad (69 minutes) and Real Betis (45 minutes). Since then, the midfielder has only played one minute, which came against Levante. He did not appear Real against Valladolid, nor against Cadiz, although for the latter he was already injured. This latest setback adds to Madrid’s growing injury list. Eder Militao has already left the treatment table, and Mariano Diaz is also expected to be given the green light soon, but Eden Hazard, Alvaro Odriozola and Dani Carvajal are still out, while Marco Asensio, Isco, Luka Jovic, Lucas Vazquez and Toni Kroos only recently recovered from their problems.
