She delicately removed it and took it to safety before it flew back onto her nose

Naomi Osaka has been applauded by tennis fans after she elegantly removed a butterfly that flew at her face during the Australian Open.

The Japanese tennis star was competing against Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur in the third-round when the orange and black butterfly landed on her leg on Friday.

She took her time to delicately retrieve the butterfly before walking to the side of the court where she opened her hand for it to fly away.
