LeBron James run of scoring 10+ Points in a game has taken a life of its own to mind blowing levels.
He celebrated his 36th birthday by becoming the first ever player in NBA history to reach 1,000 consecutive games with 10+ points. James baby hook shot with 6:15 left in the second quarter in San Antonio, gave him 11 points, which saw him reach the unprecedented level of 1000 straight nba games of scoring in double digit figures. A milestone that will be very daunting to surpass perhaps will not be ever be eclipsed.
He already had the record of the most consecutive games of scoring 10+ points, surpassing Michael Jeffrey Jordan’s feat of 866 games on March 30, 2018. He will continue to widened the record every time he will take the court.
Single digit scoring games in LeBron’s career
The last time he failed to score 10+ Points in a game was on the 5th of January 2007. He had 8 points 9 assists and 5 rebounds. His team(cavs) would go on to beat the bucks in that game. He has only 8 single digit scoring games in his career. 6 of those coming in his rookie season(2003-04)
While his teams scoring leader streak snapped last season. Anthony Davis being the only LeBron teammate to average more points than LeBron. After averaging 20.9 ppl as a rookie. King James has never averaged fewer than 25 ppl in a season. That is the longest streak in the history of nba basketball by a margin. The next closest are hall of famers Karl Malone and Michael Jeffrey Jordan with 11 straight seasons.
Modern day streaks
Since the 1983-84 season ,there have only been nine streaks of at least 300 straight double digit scoring performances. That list includes only active streaks—- LeBron at 999 straight games and James Harden at 411.
Among the players with the longest active streaks, Harden likely has the best chance to possibly challenge LeBron’s record.
