After the Dallas Mavericks owner got involved, West is finally in rehab.

Delonte West is finally getting the help he deserves. The former NBA player was recorded asking for money at a Dallas gas station on Monday and by Tuesday, with the help of Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, he was admitted to a facility for treatment.

Cuban went to the gas station personally to pick up the former Cleveland Cavaliers and Dallas Mavericks player. From there they sat down with West’s mother at a nearby hotel and convinced him to get help. West is now seeking treatment at a facility in Florida and has already begun sessions needed to heal.

As recently reported by theGrio, West was seen in a disturbing photo standing on the side of the road in Dallas with a sign asking for money. In January, a video surfaced of a shirtless and bloody West on a curb yelling obscenities to an officer. In another viral video, he was seen on the street being viciously beaten.

According to NBA reporter Shams Charania, when Cuban reached out to West’s mother to ask how he could help, his mother, Delphina Addison, simply said, “Find Delonte.” The writer also tweeted that, according to sources, the ex-player is going through a “very difficult personal struggle.”

In the video, West says, “I was told I have an emotional problem or something like that.” West expressed that he felt NBA teams would judge him for the diagnosis. “Is he going to act crazy or do something out of control?”

He concluded: “There is so much attached to my name but I just want to show the world and the NBA how much of a better player and a person that I am.”

West hasn’t played in the NBA since 2015.
